Q.

Sir, my baby is 4 months 6 days old. When she took a bath yesterday, she had phlegm coming out of her mouth. What could be the reason for coming like that. Baby cried a lot yesterday.

A. This may require proper evaluation, so to clear your doubts regarding this and to receive proper information you should consult your pediatrician/concerned doctor who will guide you in a proper way and will also suggest proper investigation if slrio required after clinical examination and taking detailed history. That will be a better approach for a proper treatment regarding this.

A. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a propefr evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough. if fever is there paracetamol can be givjen to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .
