A. dear parent, what was the birth weight of your baby and what is the current weight? babies lose weight after birth which they regain in 15 days time. thereafter baby should gain at least 500 grams per month on an average. For healthy weight gain, you should exclusively breastfeed till 6 months complete. At one episode of breast feeding, feed from only one breast so that baby receives fat rich hindmilk which will help in weight gain. feed baby on demand.

A. Nurse your baby every two to three hours and whenever they show signs of hunger. Don't put your baby on an every three- to four-hour feeding schedule like a formula-fed baby. Since breast milk is more easily digested, breastfed babies need to eat more often.
