A. Dear parent, as a breastfeeding mother you should have a balanced diet having variety of food groups. You should have 1 to 2 meals more as compared to earlier because nutrition requirements for breast feeding mothers are high. Have variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables even green leafy vegetables. Have proteins like eggs, beans, pulses, milk and milk products. Have healthy fats from nuts like almonds and flaxseeds. Have adequate fluid intake. Avoid processed and packaged foods.
