A. Experiencing severe stomach pain after getting your period for the first time after delivery can be distressing. It's essential to consult with your healthcare provider to determine the cause of the pain and whether it's safe for you to take painkillers, especially if you're breastfeeding or have any underlying medical conditions. If your healthcare provider approves the use of painkillers, they may recommend options that are safe for you and your baby if you're breastfeeding. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like ibuprofen are commonly used to relieve menstrual pain and are generally considered safe when breastfeeding, but it's crucial to follow your healthcare provider's guidance and dosage instructions. In the meantime, you can try other methods to alleviate menstrual discomfort, such as applying heat to your abdomen, taking warm baths, practicing relaxation techniques, and maintaining a healthy diet and hydration. If the pain is severe or persistent, don't hesitate to seek medical attention promptly.
