A. Experiencing pain during breastfeeding can be quite common, but it’s important to identify the cause to find relief. The pain could be due to nipple soreness, which often occurs in the early stages of breastfeeding as the baby latches. Poor latch technique or a tongue-tie might also cause discomfort. Another reason could be mastitis, which is an infection of the breast tissue, leading to pain, swelling, and redness. It’s important to ensure that your baby has a proper latch, and you may want to try different breastfeeding positions. If the pain persists, or if you notice signs of infection (like fever or swelling), it’s best to consult a lactation consultant or your doctor for advice and treatment.
