Q.

#Paedtrician ..Hello my baby is suffering from fever..He is 16 months old..My query is whatever temperature it shows in axilla (armpit) is the temperature for babies or we should add 1 to that temperature..since we are unable to measure under the tongue..

A. hello Mommy...!! As per the theory , the rectal temperature is higher than oral and oral again is higher than that in the armpit. But practically, only armpit temperature is considered or monitored. So if you find armpit temperature more than 100 give your baby medicine if prescribed. Else see your pediatrician soon
