Q.

Our baby is 6 months and 3 days old....can we start introducing to solids? if so how to prepare and the procedure to feed him?

A. yes, dear parent, you can introduce solids to your 6 months 3 days old baby. you can begin with porridges (like rice, Ragi, wheat flour , moong dal and rice flour mix) , kheer then dal-rice with vegetables, veg khichadi, soft mashed fruits, curds, later mashed paneer cheese, Vegetable Daliya consistency of food should be like that of ghee avoid water thin foods like thin dals and rice water, soups. Squeeze lemon in baby's food for iron absorption. start with 3-4 tsp and then about half katori per meal about 2 to 3 meals per day. give 1 food for about 3-6 days for baby to accept and to see how baby tolerates it then introduce another new food
