Q.
Our baby is 1 month old and having ear wax in the left ear. Can we clean it at home by any recommended way or does it need to be done by a doctor?

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. you have to clean the ears of the child only externally with cotton cloth.
do not use anything like earbuds to clean the internal ear.
this will only do more harm as wax will get impacted inside deep and will cause more problem.
if you feel that the child is having some problems in the internal ear then kindly meet your doctor for examination.
if the child is having wax problem and not improving with drops you have to get it removedc with the help of your ent doctor.
if there is pain you can give paracetamol to the child for pain

You can clean it with a soft and wet cloth properly from the outer side what you but you cannot use anything inside to clean it if you feel the earwax is more trouble some further child you can consult an ENT doctor rest what is needed to be done the doctor advise you
