Q.

on the advise of my Pediatrician my 3 months old baby having formula milk along with breast feed... for formula milk our Pediatrician suggest for 30ml of water use 1 scoop of formula powder and I tried this quantity to my baby.. and he is suffering from constipation and digestion problem and crying continously then onwards I tried decreasing the quantity of formula powder with the same receipe now he is digestive that formula milk... is there any problem regarding decreasing the formula powder quantity and is this cause any serious issue?

A. when you dilute the formula milk the energy and the protein value of the formula milk decreases. the child gets more water with little nutrition. it is advisable to change the brand of formula milk if the child is not digesting one particular brand of formula milk

A. If your baby seems constipated, consider simple dietary changes: Water or fruit juice. Offer your baby a small amount of water or a daily serving of 100 percent apple, prune or pear juice in addition to usual feedings. These juices contain sorbitol, a sweetener that acts like a laxative.
