Q.

Not growing weight as per the WHO standards,please suggest what should we do? and what are the causes for this? Present weight is 5.6 kg only and 4 months 23 days.

A. Weight gain in a child is a good indicator for proper health of the child and there should be a regular weight gain as per the age of the child. if there is not a proper weight gain it can be because of many factors and three most important causes are Baby not taking enough calories Baby is not afbsorbing the enough calories which the baby is taking Baby is cburning too many calories . So a proper assessment is very important to know the cause regarding this .

A. See Along with the current weight it would have been great had you mentioned the birthdate of the child because it would be calculated accordingly so you know as per WHO standards it’s not necessary that the child will always have appropriate weight it was completely depend on the birth weight if your child has gained about say 2 to 2 1/2 KG in these five months so that’s quite appropriate
