Q.
Newborn is 12 days old. Umbilical cord stump fell off on the 5th day. Want to confirm if this is just the part healing or pus formation. Should I take him to a doctor?

ExpertDr Bandana JoshiAyurvedic Physician4 years agoA. Yes it’s a part of healing and keep the area dry and while giving bath take care and apply little coconut oil around it and if you see any fluid or pud then sprinkle some neosporine powder over it

AbhayaMom of a 15 yr 10 m old boy4 years agoA. Hi mom Yes this is part of healing. U can apply betadine solution or neosporin powder on it. It will be fine. So no need to worry. Feed after every 2-3 hours interval or when demanded by the baby. Exclusive breastfeed ur baby till six months
