Saline Nasal Drops: Use saline drops to help clear the baby's nasal passages. You can also use a bulb syringe to gently suction out mucus from the nose, making it easier for your baby to breathe.
Keep Baby Hydrated: Ensure your baby stays hydrated, whether through breastfeeding or formula. Fluids help keep the throat moist and can ease discomfort.
Elevate Baby’s Head: If your baby is congested, you can elevate the head of the crib slightly (by placing a rolled towel under the mattress) to help with breathing while sleeping.
Keep Baby Warm: Keep your baby comfortably warm but avoid overheating. Dress them in layers that you can remove if needed.
Humidifier: A cool-mist humidifier in the room can add moisture to the air and ease breathing.
Avoid giving any over-the-counter cold medications to your baby unless advised by a doctor. If symptoms persist for more than a few days, or if your baby has trouble breathing, a fever, or a decrease in appetite, consult your pediatrician immediately.
