Q.

My son was born today, and he has had low oxygen saturation around 60% at birth. He was observed for around 2 hours with oxygen but still has an issue with low oxygen without artificial. now he is admitted to NICU. I was told by the doctor that the baby had pooped inside the womb. is this a critical condition for my child?

A. Hello my dear parent! A few babies do poop inside the room just before the delivery and there can be some kind of discomfort for first few hours. Nothing to worry as long as your baby is being taken care of by your doctor. Just follow your doctor, instructions, and guidelines.
