Q.

my son is autistic kid. He has a self injurious behaviour of hitting head with wrists. can you suggest how to reduce this behaviour. he is non verbal , so when he can't express or when he knows he does something wrong he does this behaviour .

A. Hello.. You can start his occupational and speech therapy, by this his hitting issues will be gone, he will be taught to express his feelings, he will start some phonics or babbling later come on words, if he's hyper he will be taught to self control. Buy some flashcards, wooden pegboards, u can buy firstcry intellikits too they are useful too. share ur email address on forum.trinity23@gmail.com. will send you some links and videos abt the use n effect of it on autistic kid.

A. baby needs special care occupational therapy painting drawing clay sculpture etc for further advice in this regard it is advisable to consult your doctor for physical examination and if there is need to do investigations also then only proper treatment can be given
