A. this is known as gastrocolic reflex. gastrocolic reflex is very normal in children. in this phenomena the child is having semi solid to solid stool after every episode of of food intake. if the growth of the child is proper there is no need to worry about this phenomena. it is also advisable to continue curd buttermilk apple and banana which will help in proper digestion of food. usually this phenomena decreases with increasing age of the child. but if the consistency of stool is watery or very very hard meet your doctor. also rule out worms problem in the child. it is important for you to know that the weight of the child depends upon the genetic patterns and by that pattern only the weight gain in child is seen. it also depends upon the diet the child is taking. so it is advisable that you should meet the doctor who will tell you whether there is anything to worry or not and whether the child requires any health supplements. the child should be given different flavours and recipes made from cereals pulses vegetables milk and fruits daily in small amount. you can add ghee groundnuts dryfruits in the diet and this will help in improving the weight of the child. you can go through many recipes for children in different flasvour and taste for your child on firstcry
