My son is 5 year old he is having fever for last 6 days it starts only at night lasting till morning inspite of giving paracetamol 250 mg 5ml and amoxillin and clauvalic acid syrup. please advise.

A. Thanks Dr for your quick response. We have been repeating the paracetamol 250 mg every 6 hours. it is bothering that home is having fever continuesly on 6th day at night. low grade fever 99 to 100.5 F. feels nausea at times otherwise acting normally. is it something worrisome?

A. Fever is when the temperature of the body goes above 99 degree fahrenheit and the safest medicine in such situation is paracetamol which can be repeated after 6 hours again if required in a proper dose . Alternative medicine can also be tried if requirevcd like ibuprofen and mefenamic acid preparations. cold sponging of the whole body with tap water can be beneficial too to bring the temperature down .
