Q.

My son is 3.5yrs old and I’m taking care of him at home. No preschool kindergarten or nursery. I work from home. I keep him engaged and he plays inside the house. His father wants him to be at home may be after few months he can be sent to school. He’s very adamant and shows too much when his father is with him. During the day he will behave well and does not throw tantrums. His father will not say anything when he does anything. Please advice on this on how to handle things and bring his tantrums and adamancy under control..

A. To deal with toddler tantrums, first try to identify the things that might trigger these tantrums and remove them from the child's environment. During a tantrum, the goal is to ignore the behavior and withdraw all attention, so the child learns that tantrums won't get them what they want.
