Q.

My son is 3.5 months.. his head is not round but flat from back. Also he tends to turn his face only on left side… For sure there is no problem in neck.. it’s natural…I mean since he is born he tends to see on left side only… On consultation, doc said that everything will be fine once he starts to roll. Will it be?? I am a bit worried..

A. flathead in babies is very common, mostly on one side initially when the baby is not flipping on the sides in the first few months of age, so because of the continuous pressure over the soft skull, bones, searching of head can be there. This will become normal by itself gradually, when the skull grow in size and shape blwith age, no mustard, seed, pillow, or any such kind of intervention like Massage of head is required for correction. If there is any kind of gross abnormality seen in skull, proper Medical advice should be taken.
