try to create interest by explaining as well as demonstrating what you want the child to know
you can taake help of play school syllabus which will help you out telling you that which is required to create interest

On first cry there are books available with shapes, colours, vegetables, fruits, flowers, alphabet, buy those books for your kid and show the colour and everything indicating the pictures, your baby will grab immediate attention.
