Q.
My son is 15 months old. He has fever since 4 days. After doctor consultation, we gave Antibiotic and Paracetamol suspension for 4 days as prescribed.. But still his palms ,feet and head are hot sometimes and when checked his fever shown 101.Which we are worried about. Should we go for a blood test for him Or What you experts suggest?

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Fever is commonly seen in babies and mostly it's viral infection which is very common in children. But if fever is high grade and persisting or assosiated with specific symptoms than other causes should also be rguled out . Antipyretic like paracetamol or ibuprofen or mefenamic acid are usually given to reduce fever . Cold c sponging with lukewarm water is also helpful . Doctor consultation should be done if symptoms like excessive irritability dullness loss of appetite less urine output is there .

Yes you should go ahead with blood test for the time now because it has been three days plus already very important that you go ahead with a blood test to figure out as to what could possibly be the issue and according to that only the treatment can be suggestedWrite Your Answer Here
