Q.

my son is 14 months . his weight is 8.5kg. doc told tht his weight is not adequate. can u pls suggest nice weight gaining foods ( veg ) also what can b given as evening snacks

A. Good Growth of the child is very important and for this most important is that child should take a healthy diet where its necessary to give a balance diet which should contain all the nutrition required. This is very important for building the immunity also. Encourage for green vegetables fruits dairy products all kinds of dal and other protein containing food items like soyabean eggs etc. Some nutritional deficiencies can be a cause for less appetite like iron deficiency which is most common. Suppleuiments like iron supplements and multivitamin with lysine like syp zincovit CL can bge given for 1-2 months to increase the appetite. Diet counselling is also very important .

A. good evening the weight is good enough I would recommend you to introduce egg yellow to the child you can start giving your baby dry fruits as evening snack you can also give your child cheese slice
