Q.

My son is 1 year old. He is having slight fever since yesterday and is having a very running nose. Also he is not properly eating. Yesterday night the temperature was 99. I am giving him ascoril drops 0.5ml. Also dolo drops 0.5ml twice a day. What other care should I do?

A. Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination. steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest. As a part of viral ilgdlness there could be associated symptoms like cough and fever which needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained .
