child's rate of growth is also dependent on genetics or how his parents have been in their childhood, parents body frame.
for healthy weight child should be having a balanced diet having all the food groups
childs daily diet should have:
cereals starch like rice wheat corn , sago, Limited amount of bread
at least 2 servings of good protein like pulses, beans, eggs, soya , milk and Milk products, fish chicken, meat
variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables and green leafy vegetables
energy dense fruits and vegetables like banana , custard apple, Chiku, sweet potato more frequently
Nuts like almond ,dry fruits, peanuts
at least half litre full fat milk which also includes Milk products like 1-2 glasses of milk and rest as paneer or cheese or curd.
add ghee on top of food to provide more energy
avoid fruit juices and thin soup as they fill up the stomach and provide less nutrition.
