Q.

My son has swallowed a ballpoint nib and he is active he is also eating food well,it’s been 4 days since this happened should I be worried or will the nib come though his stool,what should I do?

A. The only time a child can get in trouble after swallowing one is if it goes into their airway. In such a case, the child will immediately begin choking. Since this didn't happen, we are assured that it went into the stomach where it is much safer. It will take anywhere from 1-3 days for it to pass.
