Home Remedies for Baby’s Cough:
✅ Steam Therapy – Sit in a steamy bathroom with your baby for 10 minutes to help clear congestion.
✅ Saline Drops & Nasal Suction – If he has a blocked nose, use saline nasal drops followed by gentle suction.
✅ Warm Fluids – Offer warm water or lukewarm breast milk/formula to keep him hydrated.
✅ Turmeric & Garlic Infused Mustard Oil Massage – Warm mustard oil with garlic & turmeric, strain, and gently massage on the baby’s chest, back, and feet.
✅ Ajwain (Carom Seeds) Potli – Warm ajwain in a dry pan, tie it in a cloth, and place it near the baby while sleeping (not directly on the skin).
✅ Elevate Head While Sleeping – Keep the baby’s head slightly raised to ease breathing.
When to Consult a Doctor:
❗ If the cough lasts more than 4-5 days.
❗ If he has high fever (above 100.4°F).
❗ If you notice wheezing, difficulty breathing, or chest congestion.
❗ If the cough is severe at night or causes vomiting often.
Medicines (Only After Doctor’s Advice): Saline nasal drops for congestion. Paracetamol drops if fever is present. Pediatric cough syrups should only be given if prescribed by a doctor.
Try these home remedies first, and if symptoms persist, consult your pediatrician for the right medication. Let me know if your baby has any other symptoms!
