Praise the child even if he finishes a small part of his meal. Offer a bowl and a spoon and let the child feed himself. Let him play with the foods and make a mess. This is how he will learn to eat independently while playing, touching and tasting the food. The entire family should eat together so that the child learns to eat after watching his parents and elder siblings enjoy foods cooked at home. Children at this age experience a sense of independence. Let him be a part of meal preparations such as setting up the table before meals and choosing the vegetable to be cooked. Offer different textures of foods. Offer colourful foods in colourful plates and cut foods into different shapes to attract the attention of the kid.
