Q.

my son 5.7 years given varilix vaccine yesterday. From morning onwards his leg not putting down may be having some pain. is it normal??

A. not common with this vaccine. when fever and pain comes after vaccination you can give paracetamol to the child for fever as well as pain. paracetamol can be given maximum 4 times per day. you can also apply ice over the injection site. if there is local swelling you can apply ice as well as thrombophob gel. vaccine fever usually subsides in max 2 to 3 days but if it continues beyond 3 days meet your dr to rule out any other causes of fever

A. hello pain due to the vaccination is the normal you can try to keep an ice pack over the area which will help and if the child is having fever along with the pain you can give paracetamol which will help reduce both pain and fever and nothing to worry
