it is usually present due to the throat mucus / thick saliva as well as respiratory secretions
which pass on from respiratory tract (parts of nasal cavity , oral cavity and throat) to the gastrointestinal tract by swallowing and then comes out through the anal canal mixed with the stool.
it may be present in less quantity during regular times and would be in more qufantity during allergy as well as cough and cold in the child.
mucus in the stool is also associated with gastrointestinal infections as a less constipation as well as indigestion.
treatment is usually given according to the cause
RashmiMom of a 11 yr old girl1 Year agoA. You talking about yourself or your child that’s not clear to me anyways mucus in the poop can sometimes be a sign of infection so I’m going to recommend you to kindly consult your doctor once regarding the issue that you are facing
