Q.

my one month baby stiffens her arms and legs and cries when she is lifted and put on shoulders to burp or in sitting up position. why is this happening

A. but she is able to make hand, leg and neck movements really well

A. Hypertonia is too much muscle tone. Infants and newborns diagnosed with hypertonia have stiff muscles, especially their arms, legs and neck, which can be difficult to move. Muscle tone is the amount of resistance (tension) to movement in your muscles.
