Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy3 years agoA. meningococcal vaccine is an optional vaccine. it is usually given either at 9 months of age and one year of age as a a 2 dosage regimen or you can go for a single dosage after two years of age.
your doctor is the best person to tell you whether it is requiredz by your child or not.
my personal advice would be that if you can afford the vaccine youx should get the child vaccinated for any disease for which vaccine is available

but if you live in such area where this diesea prevailing then better to get it done
otherwise no need of it.
so , please consult your pediatrician and discuss it with him once.
