HomeQuestions & AnswersMy kid 3 yrs fell down backwards at school and teacher says her head didn't hit..
She had little runny nose and sneezing when she went to school.. after falling down she slept for an hour, and then after taking lunch she vomitted.. Then I was called in the school and I brought her back . Again she vomitted one more time when we reached home. then she slept and after waking, she was active and ate food and didn't vomit.. But she is having fever now .. Teacher called up at night and said she had fallen at school but her head didn't hit. They didn't say about this incident earlier..Then I was tensed and came across some YouTube videos mentioning the symptoms after a serious head hit.. one is feeling sleepy and the other vomitting.. my kid had these 2 symptoms, she vomitted twice and slept soon after falling down.
Is there anything to worry? Should we tak her to hospital for any checkups? please reply

A. Any Fall injury specially head injury needs to be assessed properly . In any such case certain symptoms needs to be checked like loss of consciousness reccurrent vomiting or any abnormal moment or convulsions . Such case needs immediate medical intervention as there could be some internal injury . Otherwise application of ice locally to reduce the swelling and pain can be done along with sofyme analgesic like paracetamol.
Recurrent fall injury for a child shouldu be avoided as it can lead to some chronic manifestations occasionally .
Also teeth injury should be rule out in any such case which is commonly associated and can be easily missed out most of the time .
