A. it is in diagnosis of allergic cough cold . here the child will have regular cough and cold which is usually not associated with fever . it increases and decreases but does not get cured completely. dr will give anti allergic medicine usually motelukast / levocetirizine. if its still not ismproving the next line of treatment will be inhaler therapy with mdi / nebulizer. allergy can be environmental (temperature variation -hot to cold weather/ cold water intake / dust / smoke / pollens) , foxod , chocolate / packet preservatives food and sweet food also. body cannot sustain such allergic changes leading to cough cold usually at evening /night and morning.

A. You can make a herbal rub with mustard oil, carom seeds, methi seeds (fenugreek) and garlic. The warming properties of mustard oil and anti-bacterial properties of garlic and carom prove beneficial in combating congestion. Heat ¼ cup of mustard oil in a pan, and add in two garlic cloves and half a teaspoon of carom seeds. Take it off the heat after it turns brown. Apply this warm oil on your baby’s chest, back and feet.
