Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. usually not needed
straining while passing stool as well as urine is normal.
the child is crying due to colic pain (due to gas) and not due to the reason that the child has not passed the stool.
infants may not pass stool for 10 days also and if the consistency of the stool is semi solid to solid it is not constipation. you can consider constipation only if it is hard and dry stools.
you can give anticolic medicinesx and meet your doctor.
burping / upright position for 20 minutes will help in decreasing the gas and future colic pain
RashmiMom of a 10 yr 11 m old girl1 Year agoA. Okay so if your doctor has advised you with it you can certainly go ahead with that because the doctor must have advised you on the basis of the problem that the child is having so you should follow the advice which has been given by your doctor
