Q.

My daughter's serum bilrubin was 14 yesterday, 13 was in today's morning & now we are waiting for tomorrow's report as baby is under Photo Therapy. baby is 4 days old. Pls suggest what to do & when we can take discharge from Hospital. Thank you in advance

A. hi mom u should follow the advice of ur treating pediatrician as he is examining ur child and he is aware of complete history and examination findings of ur child

A. bilirubin is very common in new born , the body removes extra bilirubin own its own . but the liver of new born is not that strong that it can quickly remove everything immediately. let her in the phototherapy for a day or two with proper feeding. as the bilirubin come below 10 ,it will go away.
