Q.

my daughter is having a bad toothache and swelling nd fever because of that. gave ibugesic but swelling doesn't go. she has cavities in teeth. what can I do to relieve her pain and swelling. please reply at the earliest she is crying a lot and not eating food

A. Hi As your child is having cavity, the swelling associated with the tooth is due to spread of infection from teeth to jaw bone area. ibugesic plus will help in relieving pain but for swelling you have to give antibiotic course.. definite treatment is required for complete resolution, and for that consult Pediatric Dentist.

A. Use a warm salt-water solution and have your child rinse well by swishing or holding the salt water over the painful area. Use a cold compress. This can relieve pain and swelling. If there is no swelling, you can try it anyway to subdue the pain.
