A. Hello mommy, If your child has mild acne, there are several things your child can do at home to improve his skin: Wash his face no more than two times a day using a gentle skin cleanser. Be gentle when face-washing. Hard scrubbing can make the acne worse. ... Try to leave the acne alone. Just like adult skin, your toddler's sensitive skin can get irritated and have blocked pores. This can sometimes trap germs in their skin and cause toddler acne. Even food left on your child's face can sometimes irritate their skin, block pores, and lead to toddler acne — or, more commonly, rashes that look like acne.
