Q.

my daughter is 5 months old now. she was following a particular pattern for sleeping and suddenly it has changed. during daytime she sleeps and gets up and sleeps back after playing but night time she is very cranky. I am feeding her continuously and keep changing diapers and having difficulty to put her sleep and she looks very sleepy but just not able to sleep. she even cries while drinking milk. is it normal, am I unnecessarily worried?

A. Toddlers and older babies who cry while asleep, especially while moving in bed or making other sounds, may be having night terrors. Nightmares occur during light sleep, or random eye movement sleep. Night terrors, on the other hand, occur when a child becomes very agitated during the deeper phases of sleep.
