Q.

My daughter is 2yrs 10 months old she is getting fever either in afternoon or evening after giving medicine she plays like a normal but all of sudden her body temperature comes to 98-99 what is the reason.since she got foot n month disease fever goes n comes after 15 dys for what reason does this happen

A. Fever is commonly seen in babies and mostly it's viral infection which is very common in children. But if fever is high grade and persisting or assosiated with specific symptoms than other causes should also be ruled out . Antipyretgtic like paracetamol or ibuprofen or mefgenamic acid are usually given to reduce fever . Cold sponging with lukewarm water is also helpful . Doctor consultation should be done if symptoms like excessive irritability dullness loss of appetite less urine output is there .
