Q.

My daughter is 1 year old. Her birth weight was 2.9kg. And now her weight is 7.8kg. From last month her weight is not increasing. She is active, crawls, stands and walks with support. Speaks ba-ba, ma-ma. I am concerned bcoz of her weight. What should i do to increase her weight?

A. Give her whole cow's milk and milk products like ghee in small amounts to be added to her meals, butter, cheese, curd and homemade paneer. Give her fruit milkshakes and fruit smoothies and add dry fruits powder to them. Give her plain nuts and seeds to eat. Bananas, avocados and pears help in weight gain. Give her one boiled egg per day. Give her pulses like masoor Dal and moong Dal. Give her potatoes and sweet potatoes for weight gain.
