A. If your 11-month-old daughter has a fever, here are some steps you can take: Check Temperature: Use a thermometer to measure her temperature. A fever is typically considered a temperature above 100.4°F (38°C). Keep Her Hydrated: Offer her plenty of fluids, such as breast milk, formula, or water, to prevent dehydration, especially if she has a fever. Comfort Her: Dress her in light clothing to help her stay cool. Keep the room at a comfortable temperature, not too hot or too cold. Fever-Reducing Medications: If her fever is causing discomfort, you can give her an age-appropriate fever-reducing medication like paracetamol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen. Be sure to follow the correct dosage for her age and weight. It’s best to consult with her pediatrician before administering any medication. Monitor Symptoms: Keep an eye on her symptoms. If she is fussy, lethargic, or seems to have difficulty breathing, you should seek medical advice. When to See a Doctor: Fever lasting more than 2-3 days High fever above 104°F (40°C) Signs of dehydration (dry mouth, fewer wet diapers) Difficulty breathing, persistent cough, or rash Persistent vomiting or diarrhea Fever in babies is often caused by viral infections, but it can sometimes be a sign of a bacterial infection. It's always best to consult your pediatrician for guidance if you're concerned.
