Q.

My daughter had UTI when she was 4 months old and doctors asked me to give Sporidex 100mg (1ml per day). He asked us to take MCU test after 3 months till then we are supposed to continue this medicine. Is this normal? Now my daughter 7 months old and she is taking sporidex 1 ml per day. Since it is an antibiotic I am worried about giving this medicine for long period.

A. yes that's for prophylaxis. continue the antibiotics on daily basis. it is important to follow the instructions and medicines course given by your doctor for the problem . they are safe if given by registered medical practitioner. do not undertake medicines or medical procedures not prescribed / guided by the doctor. take a follow up in few days if it is not improving for need of treatment modification

A. UTI is quite a major infection on the basis of the intensity of the infection only a doctor must have advised you this so kindly continue with whatever your doctor advising since your child is too small you should actually just follow the advice given by your doctor for this
