Q.

my daughter dont have any cold sysmptoms but she is difficulty in taking breath.. she is opening her mouth & sleep.. clear nose but why she is talking with nose and difficult to take breath.. i use to give liquids then she use to normal and the next day she again difficult to breath.. atleast for some time in a day she is suffering like this... pls ans to my question iam really worried about this

A. Cold most of the time is a viral illness where there could be running nose sneezing along with cough and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration . steam inhalation will also be useful in this . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be used once a proper evaluation fby the doctor is done and according to the type ofc cough its prescribed. if any fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the temperature and the dose can be repeated again after 6 hours if required .
