Q.

My daughter 2 years 9 months old is coughing at early mornings. Like positional coughing only when she lies down for long hours. Then she is all fine. No other symptoms. I need to know what is it due to?

A. due to mucus in nose and throat This may due to either allergy or infection and some times due to climate changes and temperature variations . For cold you can give drops wikoryl AF 0.5 ml to the child 2-3 times per day. try to prevent temperature variations around the child and give nasal saline drops frequently for nasal blockage, simple cough and cold. Indirect steam is helpful. Home remedies like Tulsi Ginger diluted with water combination (honey can be added after 1 year age)and turmeric with milk at least 2 times per day. Give warm water to drink If no improvement in 2 or 3 days then meet your doctor paracetamol for fever and pain.

A. A morning cough may be caused by an illness, an allergy, or asthma. Coughing is your body's way of clearing irritants from your respiratory system. Often, it isn't a sign of a serious medical condition. But if the cough lingers, you should see a doctor.
