Q.

my child is having cough since last week. visited her pediatrician he gave medicines n told to complete a full week course. today we completed a week. though the frequency of the cough has reduced but still she coughs at night. I showed her yesterday to her pediatrician again he did checkup n said she has improved a lot. could u help me is it ok to have cough and cold for more than a week?

A. it might be allergic cough. you can try home remedy. take little water add in very less than a pinch haldi, ginger, garlic (rice size pieces) and jaggery for taste. boil this water more than half. give 1/2 spoon to your baby three times a day. u can add tulsi as well. give it to baby for 3 to 5 days or untill your baby is all ok.

A. Cough and Cold along with the symptom like Fever loss of appetite irritability could be a feature of viral infection or seasonal flu where most of the timeg supportive treatment is given. along with that cough expectorant and deconfgestant with antiallergic medicine given. steam inhalation can be given frequently to relieve the symptoms.

A. It It’s easy 3 to 5 days to settle down completely depending upon the severity of the situation but as of now if the cough has reduced to quite an extent that that’s a good sign you can ask your doctor if you can nebulise your child because whatever congestion is left can very well be cleared with nebulisation nebulisation
