POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 9 yr 1 m old boy1 Year agoA. Since your 5-year-old developed rashes on the feet followed by fever, and now the rashes have spread all over the body with persistent fever, it could be a viral or bacterial infection, such as:
Possible Causes:
1️⃣ Viral Exanthem – Common in viral infections like measles, chickenpox, or hand-foot-mouth disease.
2️⃣ Scarlet Fever – If the rash feels rough like sandpaper, it may be caused by strep bacteria.
3️⃣ Allergic Reaction – Sudden widespread rash can be due to food, medication, or environmental allergens.
4️⃣ Dengue or Other Viral Fevers – Some viral fevers present with rashes and high spiking fever.
What You Should Do:
✅ Continue the doctor-prescribed treatment.
✅ Monitor fever – If above 102°F, give paracetamol and sponge with lukewarm water.
✅ Keep your child hydrated (coconut water, soups, ORS).
✅ Avoid scratching to prevent infection.
✅ If rash worsens, fever persists for more than 3 days, or there are breathing issues, swelling, or extreme weakness, consult the doctor immediately.
