Guardian of a 5 yr 1 m old boy2 years ago

my child is 2 years old but he still has not started talking..only three words he uses- mumma baba and aai.. please suggest

A. kids are way too smart than you think. In your case you baby is getting his work done by telling everything to you with his gestures and you happily do whatever he wants. So, for a few days try and avoid the gestures and pretend as if you don't understand any of them. Then your son would be forced to speak other words too. He is saving his energy by talking less and making you work with mere gestures. if his work is done with gestures, then why would he put extra effort in speaking.

A. encourage children to speak by communicating with them I sang chubby cheeks rhymes nearly 5 times now he sings that rhymes without mistakes pls take time to communicate with kids if you are working professionals

A. hmm, I understand the things. but as it is growing phase of childhood , your child needs you more . yes,kids do Such things i.e. masti but if your child is not always responding to his name,not making eye contact while talking , not always interested in playing with others then you need to visit your pediatrician. tell stories ,play pretend play, peekaboo ,sing rhymes with your child. quality time of one hour is enough so try to spend atleast one hour in a day with your child.

A. thank you ma'am for your response.. we both are working, so unable to give him much more time .. but always trying to communicate with him but he didn't respond properly.. wo mostly Masti karne me hi intrested hota hai .. bahot hi hiper active hai .. aise me Hume nahi samaj Raha kaise handle kare

A. hi please encourage your child by communicating with him more okay different games, sing rhymes and read stories with your child it will definitely help but please keep your child away from screens like tv mobile iPad etc
