ExpertDr. Minal AcharyaNutritionist3 years agoA. Dear mum, if birth weight was 2.35 kg, then weight of 6.6 kg is fine at 8 months. Also if baby is active, playful, passing urine more than 6 to 8 times in 24 hours and achieving all growth milestones then it indicates good health.
For healthy weight gain and growth, give homemade balanced diet having variety of food groups especially seasonal fruits and vegetables even green leafy vegetables. Continue to breastfeed and give milk products like curd, paneer, cheese. You can give eggs and non veg foods. Add powdered nuts like almonds to baby’s food. Add ghee to baby’s food. Give 3 meals a day and up to half katori every time.
