Q.
My baby will become 1 year old after 1 week. I started to take fasting in ramadan.will it affect the quantity and quality of the breastmilk. Today my baby pass stool 3 times. I am li'l worried, whether it is due to the breastmilk i am giving. Because i heard that giving breastmilk without eating food will cause diarrhea in babies. Is it true? Can i give cowmilk to baby?

Lovleena MishraMom of 2 children4 years agoA. You can start giving whole cow's milk once the baby turns one year old. If you are worried, you can start giving cow's milk. Give milk products like ghee in small amounts, curd, butter, cheese and home made paneer. Also once you start giving cow's milk, give foods rich in iron as cow's milk has less iron content when compared to breast milk or formula milk. Give fruit milkshakes and fruit smoothies and add dry fruits powder to them.
