Q.

my baby was born premature with 1.7kg weight...now he is in 8th month but his weight is 5.2kg only...he is active but weight is low...pls give some suggestions to increase weight...he is having food and formula milk

A. hi parent weight gain depends upon birth wiegth and maturity of the baby if the baby is active and feeding adequately don't worry about it maintain hydration and keep a track on urine output

A. Pre mature babies gain weight slowly as compared to full term babies. As long as he is active and healthy, there is no need to be concerned. For weight gain, you can feed fat and protein rich foods like mashed potato, rice, pumpkin, sweet potato, chicken soup, yolk of boiled egg, dry fruits, avocado, banana and 750-800 ml milk everyday. Feed 3 main meals a day.
