Q.

My baby was 3kg at birth after which she lost weight and came to 2.4kg. After 1 month she was the same weight. Now she is 2.5 months and is weighing 4.9kg still everyone says that she is not chubby and healthy like other babies. Do babies need to be chubby to be healthy?

A. Not at all. Babies need not to look chunby to be considered healthy. As long as baby feeds well and does not fall sick often, he is healthy. Do not compare your child with others and do not oay much attention to what others say. As a mother, you know it best. Every baby is different and so as their development milestones.ireover, weight gain of 140-200 gms per week is fine and by 5th month, it should double the birth weight. Considering this, your baby is absolutely fine.
